Professional Biography

I have an 11-year background in delivering training solutions that introduce global audiences in customer service, engineering, and IT to new processes, programs, and tools. My online and blended learning courses incorporate interactivity and media-rich presentation through Storyline and Captivate. All courses are SCORM-compliant and are developed using the ADDIE instructional model.

Microsoft

In the Customer Service Worldwide Learning & Development team, I developed blended learning solutions for a global audience of customer service representatives serving Microsoft Partners. The courses centered on incentive programs and an extensive set of proprietary tools. Projects included coordination with knowledge base creators, global program managers and trainers worldwide, as well as technical and business SMEs.

While working for Xbox, I created instructor-led training, live environment exercises, and reference guides for tools and processes that were finalized literally days before (and sometimes after) the training events. Major last-minute factual changes and SME availability required flexibility, coordination, and impromptu teaching of courses. I worked with both engineers and business operations in several departments.

Boeing
Our award-winning, inter-departmental training team at Boeing cut development time by 70% to meet First Flight deadlines, lightening subject expert workloads. I also spearheaded the continuing integration of several isolated training groups within Flight Test, facilitating the shared use of resources.

Cultivating business partner relationships as a project coordinator for more than 30 writers, I grew writer billability and improved metrics. Our department was in the top quartile for cost efficiency. My productivity increased 25% and I was able to take on billable work after streamlining the department's workflow and creating a SharePoint web site with FAQs, tutorials, and resources that boosted writers' self-sufficiency.

As a technical writer and instructional designer, I reach diverse audiences and translate complex concepts to expert and novice users alike. By synthesizing information from several sources, I produce thorough yet targeted content that achieves instructional goals and improves employee performance.
